Chicken Fried Steak

Still can’t bring ourselves to have it. CFS for breakfast? Mmmmm
We left Keller Ferry Camp and headed up to the plateau on the south side of Lake Roosevelt. A beautiful 12 mile hill of switchbacks, cool morning breeze of sage and rattlesnakes. 6 of ’em. All dead from the night before. Should have called this post 6 Snake Hill.
Made it to Wilbur by 8:00 and had breakfast at the diner. No, CFS for us.
Off to the NW again towards the Grand Coulee Dam. Great road rolling through the wheatfields. Started to get hot around 11:00 but we had LOTS of water.
Rolled into the US National Park at Spring Canyon. Used to camp here with our kids. This is as close as we’ll get to a Mexican beach holiday this year. Sand, sun and fantastic swimming. Oh ya.
Two real nice folks from Langley gave us a lift to the Dam town today so we could stock up. Heather wants to get a ‘floaty thing’ so she can be like the other kids on the beach. We’re goin shoppin’!
Staying here for a few days to catch up on Yoga, chillin’ and maybe a bit of bike maintenance. Oh, and some super one-pot meals. Maybe our own burritos tonight…
